A desire to be satisfied.
Unfortunately no human being has found anything under the sun that brings satisfaction.
So we consume more, and more, and more.
Eventually we overdose
However, there is hope if Christianity is our rehab.
In Jesus satisfaction can be found. Grace, love, peace, and hope can be found...and there is always more.
Consume more of Jesus.
Overdose
~Lecrae
We often starve ourselves from the food we need most. Soul food. We get so caught up with the business of everyday life we make excuses about not having time. At other times, we simply don't feel like reading God's word. I find myself falling in these categories at times. The truth is, you and I need this food to grow. We need the nourishment of God's word. Starving ourself from physical food results in malnourishment, anorexia, and other various issues. Likewise, if we starve ourselves from God's word, we will not be receiving the nourishment. Don't let yourself suffer from spiritual anorexia! Feast on God's word. Better yet, overdose on His word. My charge to you (and myself) is to make time and plunge into the very depths of God's Word and meditate on it. Spend extended time in prayer with God. Fast from anything (food, media, friends, internet, etc) that may be stealing you away from these sweet quite times. Overdose on Jesus so that you may overflow.
