Sing, Give Thanks, and Remember Your Sins

Month 2 (January 16, 2013)
Chapter 4: Sing

God gave us voices to be used to glorify him, so the main purpose of singing is to glorify God.
When we sing, we should sing with more than just our voices; we should praise God with all our heart and soul.
We as Christians have more reason to sing than anyone.

Questions:
Do you sing to glorify God?
When you sing, do you sing with your heart, or do you just mouth words?
What could keep you from singing with all you heart and soul?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS AMAZING CLIP (watch from about 24 minutes to 50 minutes):

Chapter 5: Give Thanks

-God created you. Your a alive right now because of Him.
-We deserve judgement, but He has given us hope.
-In the hard times and the good times, we should be filled with thanksgiving.
-There is no reason why you should not give thanks to Him.

Questions:
Does gratitude characterize your thoughts of God (pg. 44 Note to Self. Joe Thorn)
Why is it sometimes difficult for you to give thanks to God?
Are you thankful for what God's done in your life and do you express your thanks to Him?

Chapter 6: Remember Your Sins

-God forgives sin, but does not forget sin.
-God has forgiven you through Jesus.
-"...the memory of your sins is no cause to beat yourself up and wallow in guilt." (pg. 46 Note to Self. Joe Thorn)
-Rejoice in the forgiveness of your sins because of Christ.

Questions:

Do you wallow in the guilt of your sin or humbly remember the Cross and Christ paying for your sin?
Do you remember your sins (that they have been forgiven through Christ's death) or try to forget that they ever happened?
